thanks guys. the nano filter allows for quite a bit of travel at the space where it hangs over the edge, so it fits the rounded vase comfortably. i can wiggle it slide it around the rim.

I have the same vase (currently empty) myself, and thought of adding Endler's, but with a cat around, I fear they'd be made a quick sneak in no time flat.
Btw, a betta would not work in that setup without a lid of some kind since bettas are known to jump.

That's a bautiful set-up...really aesthetically pleasing. Out of curiosity, why did you get rid of your previous set-up? That looked cool too.
