Speaking of, I need to fish some romaine-rubberbanded-to-a-rock out of my tank. >.> My fish laughed at me. Sigh. I need some good zuccini.

I often feed romaine lettuce this way too. I attach it to a rock or piece of driftwood with an elastic for my bare bottomed tanks. In my tanks with substrate I just "plant" it as I would with aquatic plants.

Fork w/string not my idea, Borrowed from someone else here, Romain isnt a smash hit as some others, It's bulky but nutritionaly squash, zuccini, Potato, Sweet potato (God it was gone in 2 hours same size piece) and a fair few others, another smash hit was purple potato, looks odd but all the fish loved it anther sizeable chunk gone in 2 hours,

Romaine lettuce is more suited to fish that normally consume algae and are accustomed to eating large quantities of low-nutrient foods. I have never seen any of my fish touch the stuff except for the otos, hisonotus, and my one clown pleco.

my SAE love it some of my other's dont touch it, in a way good but in a way bad,

try small bits of potato, but suspend them with like a toothpick on a string so they can find them
