vent looks weird

Somethign is weird with my fishes vents(i think that is what it is). Some not all my fish have what looks like their vent sticking out a bit. They are acting normal and still feeding. What could this be? I have started today feeding them medicated pelets/flakes using metronidazole incase this is from parasties. Is this symtom consistant with parasites?

BTW the fish affected with this are peacocks,Haps and labs.
 
well i'm not too sure, most of them seem to be. One of them that is affected i think is a male eureka red peacock since his fins are getting yellow.

I don't think it is jsut the female getting ready to lay eggs.I can check tomorrow to count how many have this and whether they are female or male(I already turned out the light so it will have to wait)

could my male eureka really jsut be a female?I thoguht female peacocks dont' get any color(atleast none of my other female peacocks don't have any)
 
So that you don't think that I'm rude and ignoring the thread with this conversation, I am responding--but I don't know enough about Malawians to be able to help you further, and I apologize. Hopefully someone else will chime in.
