VERY concerned about my Emerald Green Corys

here's what i did, I bought sinking cichlid granulates, (made to feed cichlids, anything can eat them without a problem) and my cory's gobbled them up.

you should try that. i dont know about the plastic bag idea though...never tried anything like that. feeding them with the lights out would be a good idea too, as stated above.

Hmm, maybe I will try the cichlid granulets - just bought the Tetramin variety wafers, and my corys won't touch them either.

well the granulates are pretty small, so usually the corys just dont even second guess eating them, they just suck them on up. i guess they like the taste too.

tetra brand cichlid granulates. you'll know them when you see them.

If you have been throught five different kinds of pellets since you got your fish you are not giving them enough time to get used to the new food. Sometimes it takes a week for a fish to start taking a new food but you start to panic after one day. Healthy fish can easily go a week without food. Stop feeding the tank altogether for two or three days and then introduce the food you want them to eat. I'll bet you that they go for it. Tropical fish are not a hobby for the impatient.

I've had any luck with sinking pellets. algea waffers are the only dried sinking food my corys like. other than that i feed them blood worms and sometimes chicken, potatoe, peas, small balls of spinach as occaisional treats.
that plus their normal scavaging for food dropped by the other fish.

yeah it took my cories a few days before they would eat. They still don't eat much when I put the food in (only one or two start eating). They eat at night while I'm sleeping... Every morning I wake up and the bottom of the tank is clean.

Like I said in an earlier post, I fill my other fish with brine shrimp and they could care less about blood worms at that point. So the others leave the bloodworms on the bottom for the cories to clean up.

mix it up your cories wont eat well in the day so turn the light out when you feed worms and those hiahri algae wafers as well those pellets are crap!!! also add flake food at night to cut down on other fish grabbin it feed em at night thats what they do in nar=ture!!
