Very confused......

I think you could keep the platies in the 15 gallon with the cories if you wanted to keep them. If not, you could look at tetras (pretty well any type). There are many options for that 15 gal, but make sure you don't get fish that are too aggressive for the cories (one of mine came from the store with only 1 eye due to a tiger barb attack). Have fun with this though, there are many good websites that you can get quality information from, and I find that it is SO important to do your own research because the stores don't usually know anything!

I am thinking about keeping the platys, but what else would i put in with them and the corys for the 15g. From what i have heard nothing else? I really like the 10g setup, with the one "centre" fish, the dwarf gourami. So i guess i would like the same with the other tanks, but different fish??? (Did that make sense??? ). I have been trying to do my research but it gets to be confusing, the stocking rules and limits, bioloads ect....
THanks so much for the advice, Chantell

Well i put the corys in the 15g. Haven't decided if i am going to keep the platys or not.
So i was wondering if i could put pygmy corys in the 18g, or is the tank too small?
If i have just the white minnows and pymgy corys (would 4 be enough, or should i go small or bigger school??), is this tank stock or is there room for one more??
Thanks, Chantell

you could definatley put pygmy cories in the 18gallon. What else will you be keeping with them?? I say if there are only going to be a few other fish you could go with 5 or 6 pygmy cories because they don't get much larger than 1-1.5". Cories are awesome fish and the larger the shoal the better. I think you would be surprised at how much fun cories can be. Good luck!

Ok, as of now this is how the tanks are stocked.

18g
- 6 white cloud minnows
- 3 albino corys (they did not have pygmy corys, but suggested these instead, boy are they lively!!)

15g
- 3 platys (2 female & 1 male, i will keep them in this tank, they look nice in it!)
- 4 leopard corys

How do the stocking levels look?? I would like to get a dwarf gourami for the 15g if there is room, which i don't know if there is?
A friend gave me 3 panda corys, which i put in my 10g (1 dwarf gourami, 5 neons and 1 ghost shrimp). Boy are they cute!! I really like corys!!
Thanks Chantell

Indeed, cories are awesome. I think panda cories are my favourite fish to just sit back and watch-- they're so zany! :)

I would think you'd be okay adding a dwarf gourami to the 15gal, but wait until someone else chimes in first... I've never actually kept a gourami and am just making a guess based on what I know of them secondhand.

I also have never kept a gourami. I would do some research on the species and then make an educated decision based on what you found out. I'm glad you're enjoying your cories so much!!!

Well, I have added a dwarf gourami to the 18gallon, which brings the final stock too....
6 white cloud minnows
3 albino corys
1 dwarf gourami

Have also added 2 more females platys to the 15g (had one more male but he died), so the final total is....
5 platys (4 females & 1 male)
4 leapord corys

My 10g has...
5 neons
3 panda corys
1 dwarf gourami
1 ghost shrimp

I like the dwarf gourami's in both tanks, they come up to me when i go to the tanks. The corys are very funny, especially the albinos (I think they are on something ;) ).
Thanks for all the replys, hopefully i am not overstocked in any tanks!!
