Very new guy with new tank!

Thanks Scootr :O)

Oh yeah I forgot, I ordered my MagDrive 9 return pump today. I found it online for a great price I think. It was only $85.00 and $13.27 for shipping. I was seeing around $130.00 to $140.00. It should be here on Wednesday and then I can start getting the plumbing setup. I have to say I like that there are alot of things that I have to build and figure out. It will be great to see it all up and running.

I posted in your blog, but very cool WR. I look forward to seeing your updates as you come along with your tank.

Good luck with the plumbing.

The fuge is built

Ok well like I said last night I built the fuge. I worked on it some more tonight. I had to get a hole saw to drill the overflow in the plexy and got the plumbing all figured out.

The reson I built the fuge was because I want to have a place to have a DSB, macroalgea and grow Pods. Someone I was talking to on here told me not to do that in the same spot in my wet/dry were the skimmer is going to be running becouse all the bugs will get skimmed out befor they can make it to the main tank. So I built another tank out of plexy glass, put it next to my wet/dry and ran the overflow plumbing past the skimmer chamber and into the bubble trap just befor the return pump chamber. It can hold 12gal with out anything else in it. I am hoping that by sending the overflow from the sump into the bubble trap will help get rid of any bubbles that come from the falling water out of the fuge. I still have to make a stand for the fuge so dont mind the Maxim Mags under it they wont be there long. I plan on spliting the overflow outlet from the main tank and sending a 3/4" pipe into the fuge and a 1" pipe to the wet/dry drip chamber. I just hope that the flow will work right in both directions.

I know how you guys like pictures so here they are.

The MagDrive will be here tomorrow. I can't wait to see how much water this thing is going to push out.

I'm very unhappy!!!!!!!!

:angryfire::angryfire:We ordered a MagDrive 9 pump for the return from our sump two days ago from a site called Fish Tank Direct.com. Then we set up the shipping from UPS with the site. The site said it would be a two day transit from the store to us. It was to arrive today and we went to UPS's site to track when it would get to the house. UPS told us that it wasn't going to be here until the 12th. Confused about the mix up we called the store that we bought the pump from to ask them why it wasn't going to be here in two days like the site had said it would. The man that we talked to said that they can not responsible for how long it takes UPS to get the pump here but we are not trying to say that they are responsible. UPS said that gound transit from Ariazona to CT is always five days. So they know that there site if posting the transit time wrong. They told us that they know it but are not going to change it. I think that this is a scam. They want you to think that the time is shorter so that you will by there stuff and if you knew that it would take five days insted of two you wouldn't order it from them. The two day delivery is $33.45 and the one that is marked wrong is $13.27. If we knew that we would have just bought it at the LFS becouse what we thought we were saving by buying on line would have been spent on shipping. Now I'm going to see if I can afford to go by the pump from our LFS so that we can keep moving forward on the build and when the other pump arrives we are sending it back.

I think that this is a bad way to do business and I will no longer use this site for our future tank needs.

Sorry about the ranting but I'm a bit ****** off right now.:wall::wall:

try amazon.com. i've often found good prices there for filters. the shipping may not be as fast as you want it but the price might be nicer.

We got plumbing!

Tonight I got almost all the plumbing done other then the pipes from the pump that I haven't got yet. I think I have it set up so that I can adjust the flow in all directions but I guess will see. Once again if you see anything that I might have done wrong please let me know. This i the first time I have done anything like this but I think it should work.

Once again here are some pictures of the plumbing so far.

Thanks for the tip I'll check them out but I don't think I will be buying anything that I can get at a LFS any more. If I cant find it anywhere around here then maybe.
