Very Strange Oscar Behavior

Do you clean the algae off of every side of the tank? I would let the algae grow nice and thick on the sides and back of the tank, to make him feel a little more enclosed and safe. Fake plants would be great too.
 
I have my oscar in a 65 with just gravel and no decor, she has har random freak out moments too. She will swim around violently and slam herself into the lid to get my attention....and its all for food. I have tryed to give her plants, she shreds or kills anything I put in the tank. She has an air stone and likes to hang out in the bubbles, she plays around with a ping pong ball as well.
 
countrychick, how do you know your Oscar is a she ?

i keep 3 Oscars and they seem happy and for the most part they are very calm unless its feeding time then they get a little crazy,
its all about friends

is there any other fish that can be kept with oscars? im guessing they destroy real plants right?

lol i dont know much about oscars but i like them.

There are lots of fish that can be kept with Oscars.They either need to be big or fast though.They also need big tanks if you keep other fish with them.
