I just want to express my gratitude to everyone who took the time to help me- a TOTAL newbie who thought all fish needed was water & fishfood. Because of your kindness and helpfull advise, I have read almost all the threads on this forum now several times (because I didn't understand half of what I read the first time through). I'm really starting to understand all this bacteria and ammonia balance stuff.
Honestly, I previously thought that 'any' bacteria was 'bad' for a tank. I mean, that's how 'green' I am...
You will be hearing more from me as time goes on. I am now feeling a tad confident and competent about getting a larger tank. Nothing can be as stressful as trying to maintain a 1 gallon aquarium! I was SO misinformed and wrong assuming that a small tank would be easier. LOL. :laugh:
You all have given me a shopping list of items and the necessary information that I need to be a successful beginner. More than just fishfood, LOL.
I have only been reading about maintaining a fish aquarium, but the thought of plants (in addition) really appeals to me :dance
