Very warm water aquarium - 80-85 degrees

To avoid fin nipping/aggression with zebra danios, it's recommended to have at least 5-6. I honestly don't know if that can be done in a 6,6g. I'd be worried about water quality/bioload issues.

Chili rasboras are a good idea, very colorful! I think Msjinkzd had done for sale in the marketplace!

Habrosus corydoras (dwarf type, max out at 1") would be a fun addition to your tank, you could easily have 8 with chili rasboras or a calm betta. Habrosus have the cutesy wiggly butts! :D. There's also pygmaeus & hastatus corydoras.

My tanks are warm all summer, even with A/C and just netting for tops. Today the 20 gallon community was 86* F but everyone is fine.

Your tank sounds perfect for dwarf frog or two. I get more enjoyment from watching their antics than any fish in the tank. They need to surface for air occasionally and my 16" glass wall can be a challenge to the little guys.

Oooo... I hadn't even thought about dwarf frogs. Thanks for the info!

Have you tried buying a small desk fan and blowing it over the top or filter during the day? (I don't have AC, and it has been 90 inside our apt for 4 days this week. >< I am maintaining 78-82 using the fan and occasional frozen water bottles, but that's an extreme measure for this heat wave.)

Once I was shocked to find it cooled the tank by 4 degrees in about 2 hours! (I don't have it on the "high" setting anymore).

Heh, yeah. I've got fans out the wazoo and can certainly point one in the direction of the tank on the hottest days, but I honestly don't see the water temps getting anywhere near the 70's during the day, considering that room temperature in the house can sometimes (though not very often, thankfully) exceed 100 degrees for an hour or two in the afternoon.

If it's volume of water (1 inch per gal) I'd think that 3-4 danios in 6.6 gal should be OK, right?

It's more of a volume situation. 1 inch per gallon is not a general rule that should be followed. In my opnion, you could put more that that. Danios are fairly active fish and they need a foot print of a 20g tank. Not just length.

I would look more into Boraras brigittae just like Msjinkzd mentioned. I'd love to have a betta, maybe even get a sort of divider to get two of them in there.

I think a microrasbora and some dwarf cories would work out great in this tank. There are alot of options. Some of the micro fish are more outgoing than others. I like chillis because they are so vibrant and not very shy whereas the small danios like cpd's and erythromicrons are a little shyer.

Sounds like it's Boraras brigittae, then! Thanks everyone for the help!
