VHO lighting???

Ok i just found a real nice 30 gallon with everything included, skimmers overflow etc. It has some kinda ice cap ballast and 3 36" vho lighting. Can anyone tell me what that is (the icecap)???? How long do vho bulbs last???

The ballast is what converts the raw power from your outlet to a energy source your light needs.VHO bulbs tend to last 6 months but I would change every 3 months to retain the correct spectrum.
