Does anyone have experience with these filters? I was thinking about getting the 230 model for my 29 gallon, to use with my Whisper 30 (I know, I know... don't make fun of me.)

The cost is quite reasonable, 45 dollars from bigals, so if you have any more information or comments please leave a post!

I have a Via Aqua 650 on my 90 G Mbuna tank. It has a great media volume, and seems to be ideally suited for biological filtration. I have mine filled with Seachem Matrix as a biological medium, and am very happy.

However, I would say that its not as ideal as a mechanical filter. I have a fluval set up along side it that handles mechanical and chemical filtration.

Instructions were almost nonexistent, which is my biggest complaint.

It seems to be very well built, and I only clean it about once a month, so I consider it low maintainance.

I have 2 Via Aqua's and friends of mine also use them. As mentioned they have an excellent media volume, and I recommend using Matrix in the top basket. They are easy to use and prime. They are as silent as Eheim. Overall they are also much easier to work with than the Eheim classic range.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I was debating whether to go with the Via Aqua 230 or a Fluval 204, but I think I will go with the Via Aqua 230 because of the price and your reccomendations. Thanks a lot!
