My tank has a loud vibration sound coming from the air curtain. My question is will it affect the fish or will it only irritates me?

Make sure the pump is not touching anything, and the air line is also free. Most vibrations come from the pump rubbing something
I've had the same problem. Never seemed to bother the fish though. I eventually got rid of my air pumps and lines. I couldn't keep them in place. They always fell in the middle of the night and left me cursing at the sudden noise that I couldn't find or stop right away...
The fish will get use to it. Not sure if they like it though. I had the same deal. Built a noise supression box for the pump, put it on a peice of rubber, dampened the lines, nothing worked. I eventually took it out b/c when I put my ear to the side of the tank, I couldn't imagine having that noise in my head 24/7!!! They liked playing in the bubbles though.
