Video cards for dummies??

All done- new card is installed and working wonderfully.

Thanks guys for everything.

And I neglected to mention (in my quest for video card info) that I upgraded the memory a long time ago and went to XP as well. That old ME was nothing but trouble.

Now- should I keep this great new monitor??
The difference between this new LCD and the old humongoid monitor is like night and day- everything is so crisp and easy to read!!
If you like it and can afford to keep it, do so. They supposedly have a longer life cycle and burn less electricity than CRTs.

If you're just doing typical web browsing, don't really need an extra crisp image, and would rather use the $$$$ for aquaria goodies, send it back. ;)

Well, you already bought it and seem to like it. I say keep it and enjoy it!

assuming I don't lose the receipt

If you don't have a windowed case, just stick it inside your computer :D
