Ok, so what size tank to you keep yours in? What size is comfortable for them, I know they get big...but would a 55 or 75 be to small to keep one?

Also what about Scats? (I believe that is what they are called)

I don't think that would be too small for a violet goby they get big but they are not particularly active. I have had both violet gobies and silver scats in a 75 gallon. Eventually though the scats get to a point where full marine would be best and while the gobies have been reported in full marine they seem to do better at about half that.

A sandy substrate is required for the goby as they sift through the sand.

Well, I am wanting a violet goby more then the scats...the scats were just something I ran across that interested me.

I will not be getting either for a while, have alot going on tank wise right now. I am going back and forth on what I want to do once the 75 is redone. Haven't had a brackish tank in a while and I love violet gobys so I may do that. Although I am kinda wanting a African tank again too.

A tank with a violet goby and Orange chormis (ms?) is sounding kinda nice right now.

So right now just kinda going through thoughts in my head.

Thanks guys!

OK, well I have changed my mind yet again...I'm going with a African rift tank. Thanks for all your thought though!!:)
