Visi-Therm Stealth

Excellent.

My last heater was a Tetra heater, and I'm thinking last water change yesterday I might of made it screw up maybe.. I filled the tank and the water went above the plastic square with the temp control on it, and today my fish were acting kinda funny.. they were just staying in the upper corner of the tank. I was thinking it might of been ammonia or something like that, but checked the temp... almost 92!

And the heater was *STILL* going! (An LED lights up when the heater turns on)

As I was emptying some water out of the tank, the heater was STILL heating! So I took it off the tank and pretty much threw it out. Literally. :>

Time to test out the stealth!:thm:

many of my stealth heaters are horizontal and all of them are submerged.(they are , after all submersible)

All my heaters are Stealth (2X 100 watts in the 55's and a 100 watt in the 29 and 20). All mounted down at the bottom of the tank horizontal under filter intake.

Once you get the temp set, no reason to have them up topside! And having them in view defeats the purpose I got mine-to hide the heater....

The same thing happened to me last week; my Hagen Elite heater stuck and when I tossed a snail in the tank the water was hot! It was close to 90*. I thought maybe I hit it with my wrist somehow the night before, but after I got the temp down, a few days later it happened again.

I love my Stealth heater; it just feels solid to me. It's encased in plastic so I know it won't crack in my tank. I don't worry at all about submersing it.

I bought a Stealth a few weeks ago....best heater I've used. Since they are submersible then putting them all the way into the water will not damage them.

I own 5 Visi-Therm Stealth heaters. One is in a SW tank and the others are in FW. They are all 100% fully submereged.
