Vodka dosing to reduce nitrates/phosphates?

update:

So I;'ve been dosing .6 ml daily of the vodka.

Good thing is that the turf algae is slowly but surely dieing off. No algae on the sand anymore... Surprisingly, the glass is also free from algae. (I am getting that white film, but I haven't tried removing it yet.

Bad thing is that my coraline algae is also slowly getting thinner and thinner. Especially on the glass back (that had overlaying layers of coraline), I'm starting to be able to see the blackl color of the tank backing again.

I'll continue to dose until the turf algae is completely gone (hoefully), and then I'll stop with the dosing, and take it as it goes. . .

Yup, if you think about what your doing, exploding the bacteria population to suck up the excess nutrients before algae can eat it... this will also apply to the good algae in your tank like coraline. One of the undesirable effects from dosing to get rid of the bad algae.
