I have posted warnings about Red China... (Sleeping GIANT they are..)
""If history is any indication, Chinese imports will continue to soar until they gain a virtual monopoly of the US market.
"If the US government fails to act immediately to implement the WTO safeguard, it will be an act of reckless disregard of the available evidence, costing hundreds of thousands of US jobs as a consequence."

A 1000% increase in one year? Just the tip of the iceberg?
I'm not one much for conspiracy theories, but, the Toronto Star (Canada's largest newspaper) pulled the story about the Jonquiel Quebec Walmart story. Check it out.
I didn't read the story (link was not working) but without seeming to come off as a Walmart policy supporter (I'm not) it actually good that someone finally stood up to Quebec's unions.
The Unions here are a disaster. Power run amuck. They pull the stupidest things in this province off and usually get away with it.
Look at late last year when all the SAQ (booze stores) shut down because the union went on strike. There was stupid demands like part time cashiers wanting upwards of $16 and hour??? To put bottles of booze in a bloody paper bag?? Or part timers wanting a set in stone schedule??? No variation. Umm hello part time means part time fill in the hours. One fool actually got on the news here whining and asking how he was suppose to live a decent life with 35 hours a week at $15 an hour while going to school. Oh come on now. Minimum wage here is $7.50 and people seem to get along earning less than $15 and hour.
We have already had McDonalds stand up to them and close a couple of stores because of ridiculous demands. One of them in Rawdon opened up again (new owner) and is still not unionized. The rest are still closed.
What everyone seems to forget to mention is that Walmart does have a unionzed store here in Quebec. Not sure but I think it's Drummondville. The deal was done and no ridiculous demands like the ones I mentioned were asked for. Well guess what all is well there and they are not planning on closing that one.
The unions here get away with murder because they can possibly hold the swing vote in an election because of their numbers. The big ones always band together at election time. It's sickening. Quebec is the only place in Canada that has a law that says if your company is unionized you DONOT have the choice to join it or not. YOU HAVE TO like it or not!
I am neither pro union nor pro big business. Either one, if left alone, will become either corrupt or tyrannical or both in short order. You don't have to read too many news stories to find that out. ScottoMacD has pointed out one instance of a powerful union gone amock. Unions and big business are symbiotic to one another to keep a nations workforce and economy stable, prosperous and healthy.
I think that one of the best things that could happen to NA would be for trade unions to get a foothold in Asia, especially communist Asia and China in particular.
