Anybody bought there kits??? Like the 55g kit with everything but substrate and fish??? I am really considering buying one, just need to know if the aquarium is any good. Thanks!

Although not the highest quality tank, they are good tanks, I have used a few of them over the years. just make sure the kit has enough of the right kind of equip to be worth your money, in most cases much of what you get in a kit isn't the best or most usefull and you end up buying things one piece at a time anyhow.

Probably will be, you could also go new, just get the tank only and not the kit. However I have always found 55g to be the most popular sized tank in the classifieds, so used isn't a bad option at all.

I was about to go that route but found a 55 gallon tank at pet supermarket a smaller chain that was 85 dollars with the standerd 2 piece plastic hoods with 2 24 inch flourscent hoods
The tanks are perfecto that they carry someone here said I shouldn't buy them but not why?

Usually when someone says don't do it and gives no reason, I ask them flat out why? I trust no ones opinion without supporting details. In many cases they have had a bad experience, but that may not have been the fault of the tank. Perfecto tanks have never dissapointed me, but they arent as nice as some of the more expensive tanks on the market. I also have several Krislin tanks (sold in kits at petsmart) the finish of the seams is a little sloppy but the integrety is there.

All of my tanks came from walmart. That includes a 55g with the walmart stand, and a 29g with their stand also. The tanks are perfectly fine and I've never had a problem with them. No leaks, good siliconing job, etc. The stands are more than sturdy and rather attractive, IMO. The 55g stand has 4 frontal cabinets which are handy. The 29g stand is a bit taller than the 55g's and has 2 frontal cabinets. Both are black vinyl, I believe.

I still use the original filters and heaters that came on all the tanks except the 55g. I've got 4 of their 10g's (metal double stands) and 4 of their 5'gs. I really like the filters that came in the 10g kits.

The lights/hood that comes with the 55g is perfect for a fish-only tank.

I upgraded the filter on the 55g to a Fluval 304 and replaced that heater only because it malfunctioned (though all of my other heaters still work fine, I think it was a fluke).

55g tank, lights, their filter and heater, net, and stand, cost 250$.
