This hike kicked my butt. the sign lied, the 1000 foot drop was in the first 2 miles of the hike then then after mile 3 there is still another .5 miles of hiking, and it's not easy. None of the trail was flat for more than a few hundred feet at most. It was beautiful though and there are a lot more pictures taken. There were 2 of the log bridges, and because of all the recent rain, the water flow was a little scary.
Faun: The red bird is hard to tell from the angle at first I thought it was a cardinal, but I never saw the crest on it's head. Other than that I have no clue and would guess some kind of warbler.
