 I am thinking of upgrading to a bigger tank and i finally got the money i need to buy a bigger tank. i have been looking at some fish stores, and then decided to check out walmart. i found that they sell a 55 gallon tank for 144.45 dollars, where every else a 55 tank was around 200+
i am deciding whether or not to buy it, but im concered with the quality beacuse it is alot cheaper. i dont remeber the brand, but its the only brand walmart sells. Suggestions please? is this worth the buy? and its glass.

well, the filters arent that great, I have a ten gallon one that im pretty happy with. You will need to replace the lights if ytou want plants and the cover leaves to much room in the filter space so if you have jumpers they might go carpet surfing

I bought their 10 gallon setup and I was happy with it, but I agree, their filters are a bit crappy, but everything else is pretty decent.

So got for it. :)

yeah i have to change the filter and im not planning on getting coral, jsut the clown fish that i currently have and a few couple other fish. so i dont think changing the lights will be that nessecary...

i bought a walmart 29g kit. i have no complaints, although when i bought the kit i knew i had to replace the filter.
the tank itself is fine, and for the price i cant really complain.
2 yrs old and no problems yet, i cant see really having any.
i definately dont regret buying it over the higher priced lfs ones.

I used to have a Walmart 55g, and had no complaints whatsoever. I bought a 55g for the same price.

I agree check craigslist first. You will not be able to drill the tank. They are all tempered glass. If you are seirious about the hobie I suggest saveing up enough money till you can buy a real nice tank that will last for years to come and not something you will just grow out of when you become more advanced
