what kind of 'lilies' come out of the walmart aquarium lilly bulbs? all it says is 'red or green nymphaea' which tells me nothing since all lilies are nymphaea.
I'm not sure what grows out of them, but I can tell you that if you buy bulbs, some of them may be duds. I bought three and two did nothing. The other started to grow something that looked kind of like a java fern but I don't know what it was for sure.
Buying from a chain like walmart, you could get anything. Larger chains are more likely to mix up their fish and plants. I guess you can try them and see what happens. In my opinion, there aren't many plants that I would absolutely not have in my aquarium. Part of the thrill of bulbs is the suprise.
yeah, my b/f picked up the bulbs just for fun the other day, so we threw them in and see what happens. I've heard mixed things from people, anything from the 'lilly' looked just like another aponogeon to someone that said they got a beautiful tiger lotus. i hope one of mine is a tiger lotus, that would be sweet
If your going for flowers, then the plant will have to get to be to the height of the water. At least most plants only flower above water. It might take some time for those bulbs to grow to the top ;-)

nah, i just want some pretty underwater leaves i'll probably end up buying a couple of tiger lotus sometime if these turn out to be plain dwarf lillies like i am guessing they are
