hey guys got my pressurized c02 up and running good. i want to change over to dry ferts instead of liquid but dont know what kind i need like the different ferts they offer. any help is appreciated

the dry and liquid are the same, the liquid...just has water....

so instead of measuring by ml, you will be measuring by grams. you should use chucks fert. calculator to figure the dosage by grams.
http://www.csd.net/~cgadd/aqua/art_plant_dosage_calc.htm he also hes a windows app of the same calculator.

dry ferts can be bought at various places. such as (google them) aquariumfertilizer.com ; rexgrigg ; and umm....

and buy a cheapish gram scale, at least accurate to the .1gram, it shouldnt' run you more then 20 bucks.

thanks for the input

With EI dosing, you dont even need a gram scale, a set of cooking teaspoons is that is needed. Check out the sticky at the top of the forum and read up. As for dry ferts, I recommend aquariumfertilizer.com, I have bought there many times and have no complaints.

Yup I agree.

I got most of my measurements and schedule from this chart.

EI dosing allows for you to not be picky about specific doses. I use a 1/8th tsp and just eyeball amounts. In the end you may need to tweak amounts anyways. For example, I am adding more KNO3 than "recommended" because I found my plants were using up all the nitrate in my tank quickly. I also do not add K2SO4 because I find that my plants get enough potassium by dosing KNO3 and KH2PO4.

exactly... and i run very low lights and typically only dose kh2po4 and plantex. if i overdo it on water changes i drop a tiny scoop of kno3 to get the nitrates back up. i dose very little if at all most of the time so i make liquid stocks of kh2po4 and plantex and keep it in the fridge.

root tabs here and there and the rest is pretty much easy.

thanks everyone for your input. really appreciate it!
