Usually if you go to the website of your water supplier or whatever the heck they're called, you'll find the info on exactly what's in your water, as well as their limits for microbiological testing, heavy metals, etc. You just have to find the website! Your local Yellow Pages might be helpful. Do you guys have that in the US?
 
We have three counties listed, but not the one I am in. I called our local water service and asked primarily about the phosphate and nitrate...Boy did I get the run-around. They don't have a list they will mail me, but someone will call me back. I also got a lecture on algae in an aquarium...seems it's caused by a lack of chlorine. I just bit my tongue and said "oh really?"
 
For Oregon there's Seaside (10,000 people on the coast) and Ontario (25 years of living here and I have no idea where Ontario is). They missed Portland (1 million+), Hillsboro, Salem and Eugene.

Hmmm, maybe in a few years they'll get some more cities involved?
 
Rrr, um, I just had a water report mailed to me from the water authority (or whatever they're called) and I didn't even ask. Something about annual reporting to let customers know what's going on with their water supply...blah...blah...blah...
Unfortunately I don't think it will help any of you out!:p :D
 
Someone posted a link (on the old boards) to an EPA web page where you could look up your water data. I remember that it had most of the US covered. Maybe someone knows the URL.
