Since my sevrums and parrot want to eat every plant I put in the tank I am going to have to resort to plastic after all. not happy about it but what the heck.
So I am looking for a large lot of plastic,or silk plants at least 20 inches tall or taller, some medium ones and small. since shipping is so high, I do not want to pay shipping for a few or one plastic plant. if you have a large batch lets talk! I know some of you start out with plastic, then go to real :)
Also looking for breeder box for guppies ( the net kind with with . ( in case some day I acually get some! ) something like this.. so the babies drop thru

Go to a crafts store. They sell silk/plastic plants and you can pick and choose what you really want.

I used to buy silk plants all the time. Never had any problems, aside from the odd green thread ending up wrapped around an impeller. They last for years, then the wire tends to rust. Not harmful, just makes the stems a bit floppy...
I bought several lots of plants similar to the ones in the link, different seller on e-bay though. They are a good value for the price, better quality than most plastic aquarium plants I've seen.

I got 97 plants (from big 'grass' type ones to small 'micro swords' type) for $8 at a craft store, you sometime just have to disassemble them to get the most out of them :)

ive got 20 plastic plants from small and bushy to tall and wide

Stargate_geek ......you got 97 plants for $8 ? Where do you live ? Here in SF bay i went to check out Michael's (a arts and craft store) and they got each silk plant for $2 or more. How can one tell if they are made of silk or plastic - they look almost similar feel (especially when i feel the stem part). Also, i wonder if they dyes are made from aquarium safe material....as some chemicals might leach very tiny over long periods. Cant find much material on the net about this subject.

BTW, do the silk plants made for aquarium use look better ? (i like the ones from nature's image brand name in petco).

if you go to petsmart or petco, then go to michael's or another crafts store, you will see some of the EXACT same plants sold for 1/5 the price. they don't change anything but the tag.

silk or plastic in any crafts store is fine. just wash before putting in your tank, and i usually remove any exposed wire parts, or cover those up with silicone or marine epoxy.

only now are we starting to see plants manufactured specifically for aquariums. in my experience, though, they're really expensive and usually about as realistic as anything i can buy in the crafts store.
