Wanting to start a saltwater tank

Sorry guys another newbee. Have a 110 wanting saltwater. Not sure where to begin. Help please.

Hiya there and welcome to the saltwater forums..

To start off with, the best advice i can give you read through the current threads that are running in the marine newbie section here..There are quite a few people who are starting up tanks that are very similar in size to yours and the info that has said in there will be very valuable to you as to what you buy and the choices you make..

What are you planning for the system? is it going to be a Reef or are you just looking at getting fish and some inverts in there?

I was thinking just fish and maybe some inverts. I have a wet/dry filter now.

I have a light now that is a Smartlite? Is that ok?

for just fish and inverts? should be okay. Lightinh becomes an issue when you want to convert from a FOWLR tank to a REEF tank. Have fun doing the :read: :read: :read: :read: :read: :read: :read:

not familiar with that brand, can u list its info? watts and such

Made by custom sealife. 120 volts and 60 hz. has 2 65 watts.

Went to their website and found out they have been shut down. Thats who made my wet/dry also.

well watts are enough for a 30 gallon concerning corals...but would go for a better lamp really.
