Is it normal for Zebra Danios to chase each other? They only do this for about 1 hour after I turn the light off. Then after that, they play "hide and seek".

Also my neons like to go after each other. Somethings there is a circle of them all chaseing the others tail, after this they also play hide and seek.

My platies like to stay at the top all AM and look dead. Then after the first feeding they start to go around the tank again.

Is this all normal or not?

Do a search. JK JK ha ha. I've got a few danios here @ work, and had some in my 55 for a while and they usually like to chase eachother or they seem to "play". I think it's part of the schooling behaviour. Never had platties though.

I have a lot of fish that play in groups - I believe its how they interact and re-establish the pecking order. My barbs play tag a lot. My cichlids tend to play the pecking order/color up and chase game for a little while after I feed them. As long as nobody is getting seriously injured, its fine! I can watch them do their thing for hours - its hypnotizing after a while. Enjoy!

My Platies rarely just sit at the top of the tank, unless they see you around the tank then they start begging for food. They are usually fairly active, or they hide in the castles and caves for a while. :)

I don't have danios to tell you, but everytime I see them in the stores they are chasing eachothers.

Giant danios are like this too, it always seems like they are on a mission! Like ADD fish or something

My danios are ALWAYS chasing each other. This is nothing to worry about. They're a schooling fish, so you'll see that alot. They tend to calm down when the lights are out.
