I know that the nitrifying bacteria mostly cling to surfaces.
I was wondering what if any bacteria do live in the water.
Where would I go to learn this?
TIA

There are tons of variety of bacteria living in water. A google search will produce thousands of results. Most are benign some are deadly like E Coli.

Thanks. TKOS I wonder how I can find if specific bacteria are typical of "used" freshwater fishtank water.
For that matter where could I find what other oganics, minerals, etc are in there. I am googling what I can think of.
