water change gone wrong

sorry I missed that it is gravel, and I just did major pruning, rescaping last week so it got disturbed and cleaned. The amquel can lock up available 02, I dosed all three buckets, instead of dosing the tank before adding the new water. I've never had this happen before cories are back to normal, I've seen all 3 of them

can this affect my benificial bacteria??

If dosing the buckets individually is the only thing you did differently than normal, I would say you may have found a culprit. Out of curiosity, did you dose all 3 buckets with the whole tank dose, or did you divide up one big dose?

mmm, splashed it in, never had trouble before. usually about a capful per.

both ottos and all 3 cories are fine 3 black skirts of 5 are fine. I lost all my neons.

I think I'll leave the water pump on the rest of the night and do a head count in the morning.

thanks guys for all the help. if I've missed something let me know. thanks again.

Hope everyone pulls though okay!

personaly for me i think 50% at once is too much you may wanna try a 25% and do it on like sundays n wednesdays to break it up this may help some. or even do you an experiment with a new uncycled tank to get a better understanding of your local water supply some use different methods to purify the water and it makes dechlorinators react differently on different supplies. good luck!

I hope the rest of your guys pull through. Update us tomorrow, when you can.

well I only lost I black skirt, I still have a neon, my cories are fine, as are my ottos. I've turned the bubble wand off.I will check and make sure I've got all the bodies, but I think I have. Thanks again for all the advice. nice to know there was someone there.
