Last night I mixed up a large batch of water so that I could do a water change today. I let the water sit overnight with a pump to circulate the water. Today when i woke up I checked on the water and its a cloudy white color. is this normal for freshly mixed water or should I start over and mix another batch for my tank?

Fellow Michigander.

What salt are you using? Did you add a buffer or another additive? Should have mixed throughly by now. Make sure that it is mixed well .....give it a big aggressive stir and see if it makes a difference in several hours. And/or if possible mix another small batch in another container and see what happens there.

Well I did my water change and checked the water a bit after. Nitrite and Nitrate have not changed and I had a PH drop. Is the PH drop normal with a water change? The salt I used was Instant Ocean.

I use Instant Ocean myself.......they seem to be consistent and quality controlled. My PH drops too during the water changes......I have started adding buffer to the premixed water with good results

You shouldn't have to buffer freshly mixed IO. Have you checked the alkalinity to see if the buffering is actually off?

What is the pH before and after the water change?
