30PPM nitrate level in your drinking water seems a bit high - Not sure i would be to comfortable even drinking that. Is this a well (if so sounds like its contaminated) if its the town have you called them about the high levels?
Has anyone else heard of such a high water Nitrate level straight from the tap - would make it really hard to keep some sensitive fish.
