Water changes in my 120

hello all,
if you change 20 gallons of water, you only need to add conditioner for 20 gallons . Is that right? I have 125-gallon tank. it would be a lot of conditioner though.

thanks all!
If you are using a python how do you know exactly how much water you are replacing? If you use prime one capfull treats 50 gallons. a 250 ml bottle lasts me a month with weekly water changes on 6 tanks from 120 gallons to 5 gallons.

Remember that if you are treating for chloramine you must use a treatment that kills ammonia as well.

Read the instruction on Prime...if adding to the tank on a refill, they recommend dosing for tank size, not water change size.

hello akapaul26

My tank has a mark for 20-gallon though. I used small siphon to drain water into 5-gallon bucket. I did it four times then I put a mark on my tank. Consequently, I know exactly how many gallons though.

thanks all for your suggestions.

I have been using regular Amquel (not Amquel+). Between Amquel and Prime, which one is better?

thanks

CoreyMac,

Could I get some elaboration on the above, please? I thought the only way to deal with ammonia was thru water changes. The conditioner I'm using claims to get rid of chlorine/chloramine while putting some kind of stress coat on the fish. It doesn't mention that it helps with ammonia at all.
