Water Changes?

prime is safe to use in larger doses, so i would not worry about adding just a little too much extra. Tap water is what i use, do you know the hardness and pH of your water? I would wager a guess its just fine to use.

i wouldn't worry too much about the prime. the cap is threaded, and each thread is equal to 10 gallons. it wouldn't hurt at all to just use the 10g measurement. even with a double dose, that bottle is still going to last a very long time.

I calculated that 4 drops of prime is enough to treat 1 gallon of water, so a 5 gallon aquarium would need between 20 and 22 drops of prime.

3 prime defendants haha. Too much prime will...make a sulfur smell in your room!! :D I don't think it's not really that big of a deal so be it

Oh, okay so that's your defend point. It's time for PRIMETIME!!

Test your tap water! The fewer nasties you see, the easier it will be to simply treat your tap water and be happy with it.

And whatever nasties you do find, deal with on a nasty by nasty basis. For example my tap water has a slight amount of nitrate and phosphate - that means my planted tanks get free fertilizer, but my mbuna and marine tanks require me to take steps to deal with these conditions.

Yeah the cost is low;thats the good thing about prime
