 What are you talking about :idea2:

He, na just today, Im in my own little world with my XM :hang:

I was refering to the fact that your editing is on constant hold, I just thought that you might have a swimming test everyday and your are too tired to edit your posts, It was a small joke not meant to offend. :D ;)

Well i went out and bought an AQUARIUM PHARMACEUTICALS MASTER TEST KIT
(amzeing how prices change so much from shop to shop, one of my LFS sold it for $80, i got it for $45 from another LFS)

Anyways, I tested the water (tank has been cycling for 2weeks now with CYCLE added plus filter media from an established tank and i did a water chnage yesterday) Here are my results.....

PH 7.6
NITRITE 0ppm
NITRATE 0ppm
AMMONIA 0ppm

As i would like to keep Angels i have added some PH DOWN to get it to 6.5-6.8 as i believe this is the desired level for these fish.

:thm:

Be careful with the pH down. I used it according to the directions and my pH crashed. :( I've gotten it back up (very slowly of course) and now I use peat in my filter and it's stayed steady at 7.0 for a month now.

BTW, I only change 15 - 20% water once a week as long as my stats are where they should be. If you have ammonia or nitrites, don't be afraid to change 50% a day or even multiple changes a day. I don't think you can smack a 'rule of thumb' rule on water changes. Just do whatever your tank needs. :)

Yeah i figured i should try lowering it slowly, so i just added a little amount and ill test it agin tomorrow.

DON'T USE pH DOWN! Trying to stabilize pH by adding an acid (which pH Down is) is a losing proposition. It is very difficult -- nearly impossible -- to get stable pH that way. At 7.6, your water is fine for angels. Using pH altering stuff will only lead to yoyo-ing pH, which is not good for your fish. Keeping your water parameters stable is MUCH more important.

Did you say the best or easiest way. The best and safest way is to use a RO machine and mix tap water with it until you get your desired ph or Kh, I also believe this is the easiest way too Ime.
