Water Dogs?

Axolotls can morph actually, but they only live for around a year in their morphed stage, salamander.

Aka mexican walking fish, are pretty cool, i feed mine liver dangled on a piece of cotton to resemble live food.

Thye can get to around 12 inches, but mine are new borns given to me by a girly friend who breeds them :)

i love axolotols, i had one years back, they look a-little different than the local water dogs found in the neuse river here in N.c . both to my belief can and will maintain their gills if kept in proper conditions = cold water mostly.
axolotols are great, have bigger gills than water dogs and much more of a wider mouth, they come in many colors but grey is the most common, they have four legs which the local water dogs here only have 2 front legs..
the local water dogs have very long tails and a longer bottom jaw than that of an axolotol and it's my opinion that water dogs main color is a deep red/brown.. so do some research and know what you are bying. i wld recomend an axolotol anyday, easy to feed , will eat shrimp pellets readily and to me have this great face that always looks like they are smieling.
the local water dogs here are not nearly as cute looking and i haven't ever kept one. as for tiger salamenders i would try to stay away from them inless you wld like a half water/half land type of tank , the do and will morph but it may take some time to do so,. they do grow big though,.
axolotols are really very neat,. i surly wish they weren't on the cant have species here in n.c or i wld be raising them.. just an opinion, do your homework and know what your getting into..
