Ionization filters--do they work? The promo makes them sound like they'll give water equal to RO, but with filters that last a bit longer and don't generate the huge volume of waste water.

Also--are either the ionization or RO filters effective at removing chloramines, are is a treatment will the best bet? My water utility is converting, and I want to be prepared.

Ummm..Can't recall the other question right now. Guess that'll do as the nonsense for now.

Thanks!

carbon removes chloramines/chlorine.

chlorine destroys RO membranes, and doesnt effect, or get effected by most DI filters.

That's what I suspected. I filter all my water currently, and only deal with chlorine--but it's good to know that will work for chloramines as well.

You can use a catalytic carbon (GAC) cartridge before your carbon block to treat chloramines.
