Water level is uneven

Started to fill my 20g tank and i noticed the water level is uneven. I tried placing a piece of paper (folded many times) underneath the left side and it's still uneven!

What gives? The floor is level and so is the tank. Well, even after making the left side higher than the other side, the water level seems to be the same.

Is it the stand? Is it on carpet or a hard floor?

i placed a wedge on the right side and it's a little better. any higher and i'll be afraid to even use the cabinet. the rooms has wall-wall carpet, so yes the cabinet sits ontop of a rug.

will it be ok?

Have you actually used a level on the setup?

Water pools to the level. If the water line is not straight, it means the tank or the stand is not in fact level.
