Water level

well i think my desk is uneven so if my tank is not filled to the rim the water looks uneven.

It is not the sound of the water so much as it is that I want to be able to relax in front of my aquariums which I find hard to do if the sound of water is obtrusive. A little water running is not a problem but when it gets to the point that it is annoying then it is time to fix the problem. Easy fix. Just fill it up. Besides,I listen to the sound of rushing water all day long at work from the ponds. At home it is time for peace and quiet.

My comment was just in general; just seemed amusing as I think back on previous posts about water level, air pumps and filters. I realize a babbling brook isn't to everyone's liking.

That can put uneven stress on the tank and has been known to cause faliure after a while. I hope its not a big tank and its only slightly uneven.

I like the sound that my HOB makes, I always leave a little air between the lip and the surface of the water so it makes that sound, and creates a nice ammount of agitation. Filling it up should be fine though.
