How much water movement do cherry shrimp like? I've got a lot right now with a big bubbler in my 5 gallon, but I can switch to a smaller one if they like calmer water.

:iagree: too much water movement might stress them. I have an air stone tucked into one of my tank decorations that puts out just enough movement to keep the duckweed in check and my shrimplets happy. I think I got some small round ones at WM for less than $2 for 2.

My shrimp tank has a foam filter and occasionally I will see a shrimp or two swimming into the bubbles.

I use a mini jet on minimal blast. Yet I have ghost shrimp though.

I doubt that any mainstream filter will create too much current for any species. In nature, most species of shrimp live in streams, where the currents can be very strong.

I would go with what ever you like best, just make sure that the water is sufficiently filtered, and that the water surface is disturbed. That is the primary method of oxygenating the water.

i have a 20long with 2, 30g top fin hob and a 20ac hob filter on it and thats lots of water flow and they don't mind at all they eat and clean stuff in the stream just fine and the water level is low for the briggs,.. all is fine with them,,
