water parameters

You havn't really cycled at all if you have added no ammonia and no fish are in there.

Solution is to fishless cycle using a source of pure ammonia. Or to add very very small amounts of fish, test water twice daily, water change as necessary to maintain ammonia and nitrite below .25ppm
O i thought i was suppose to add fish which increases my ammonia levels. I tested the water today and the nitrite is at 3.0, nitrate is 20, and ammonia is maybe .5 or 0. I can't really tell the difference in the color on the test strip. So my nitrite is definitely rising, so should i leave the water alone or do a water change? Or buy some pure ammonia to add? Kinda confuse at this point. Water is crystal clear though :).

Don't add any Cories with those nitrite levels...

How come the live plants hasn't done anything to the ammonia or nitrite level? I have 3 bunches of swords, vals, and hornthort.

They probably have. They would probably be much higher without them. Don't add any fish unless your ammonia and nitrite are both below .25ppm.
