My 55gal tank is about 3 weeks old. I been checking the water parameters and it seems like the hardness (120) is kinda low and also sometimes there is a little ammonia (0.25). I changed the water last week and was planning to do it every two weeks. I have been feeding them once a day, should I do it every other day to reduce the ammonia and also what do I do to increase the hardness. Below are the parameters. Thanks!!

Nitrite 20 ppm
Nitrate 0
Hardness 120
Alkalinity 240
PH 8.4
Temp 80F
Ammonia 0.25

i hpe you amde a mistake and switched your nitrate reading with your nitrite reading- otherwise, your fish should be dead, even if it has adjusted to the high levels, for nitrite litteraly burns the fish and makes it harder for them to breate... the fish will litteraly "drown"

if your just switched them on accident, then your params are fine, just do a water change to get the ammoina back in check.

stable water is better for the fish than water that has an unstable pH, alkalinity, and hardness

You're right I did switch the readings of Nirtite and Nitrate. I will do the water change and check the ammonia level again. Should I worry about the hardness? Thanks!!
