My plans are coming along well, and I hope to start construction of a 50 gal tank within the next month depending on finances and availability of my woodworking specialist.

I'm building a corner setup, and the front panel will be 4' 4" long by 20" high. Could someone please tell me what the pressure will be at 20" high, and is a 1/2" thick pane going to be strong enough or should I go higher?

Thanks.

there was an article on about.com that I saw a long time ago in how to build your own tank that had stuff like that listed. I'll see if I can find the link

Pressure wise (which isn't actually likely to be useful to you, but is interesting to know IMO) marine water is .44psi per foot of depth.
Fresh water is .43psi per foot.
