My little puffers know when I'm near. as soon as I bend down to look in the tank they come out of their hiding spots and swim up and down the glass almost lovingly. They are the best. They live with so many fish they could kill and eat. 5 green spoted puffers, 1 figure eight puffer,13 red eye tetras, 9 serpae tetras, 7 black neons, 1 black ghost, 1 royal pleko, 3 clown loaches, 1 yoyo loach, 2 chinese high finned banded shark and one Tire track eel. In fact some times one small red eye tetra chases the smallest puffer for fun. Love my puffers.

Ok...after 40 years of fish, I guess I better break down and set up a puffer tank! So many people love them! very nice!

Lol Yo.....yeah, I'd been wondering about that myself.......for the life of me I can't understand how someone can get so attached to a tiny little fish like dwarf puffers....though I realize the other types are large enough to actually "SEE"...I still don't get it.

Guess I'll just have to setup a Puffer tank and see for myself .... :eek:oO(NO...no more tanks....no more tanks...)

BTW....great pics ! even if they are a very odd looking fish, yours look VERY healthy ;)

Nice puffers! Thanks for the pics!

Fatty Puffers

Whats funny about my luck with puffers is I get or am able to make these little guys be so peaceful. Right now I have 5 Green Spotted in a heavily Planted/AquaScaped 45gal with fish that could be their dinner. They don't even give them a glance. In my kick *** little 20gal I have four 3in figure eights, wouldn't bother any fish for any reason. But One day I got two excited and figured I could introduce 2 red-eyed puffers to the figure eights. Went well for 2 days. The red-eyed just lurked around both on opposite sides of the tank, hiding under leaves and not bothering any fish or each other. But then came feeding time. Black worms, All the puffers swarmed and just after all the food was gone and all the puffers were fat I notice a red-eye lurking toward my smallest F8. He shot forward and landed a bite right on the bellie of the F8. PUFF I actually got to see it, then as he swam away all his food came out of his mouth. I thought he was popped. But he survived and I returned the red-eyes to my LFS.

You should, my store just got a hand trained fahaka puffer thats about 5inches.

You can pet him, hand feed him, and hold him and he wont swim away or puff up.

The spotteds are really cool in schools tho. Mean lil guys.
