water smells moldy?

We've had the new 55 gallon tank filled w/water for 1 week, with 7 fish living comfortably and happy (3 tetras, 3 swordtails, 1 gourami). Today the water smells moldy. Help!! What is my problem?

Did you cycle your tank? What are your test levels?

ph is 7.2 Yes, we cycled!

well, not quite sure what mold smells like, but, does it have a strong odor? or is it more a dirt-like smell?
if its a dirt smell, then that is fairly normal, a strong odor isnt good, but u can always run activated carbon to remove any smells.

My tank smells like dirt, or eath. What kind of mold smell is it? Like mildew?

A rich earthy smell is normal. Pull one of the filter cartridges and see if it smells more strongly on that.

its a musty, mildew smell..... not earthy........
