i have quite a bit of watersprite growing in my 30g now as floaters, the floating stuff seems happy enough and it's sprouting babies and new leaves too. i planted one large piece into the subterate to try to grow it as a stem plant. it grew babies all over it and fell apart. i've seen some really nice pics of what watersprite can look like if it's grown as a stem plant, but how do i make it grow like that? do i need to start with sprouts to get it to live underwater?

plant a bunch of small plantlets (that have roots) in the gravel. in a few days/weeks they will take off and grow like crazy. make sure you have adequate lighting in the tank that reaches the bottom. thats how i got mine to grow. to see it just check my 125 gallon link in my signature.

wow, yeah, that's what i'm talkin about! your tank rocks. i'm going to plant some little plants right now.

Yup, please check out my tanks and you can see the options.

let me know what you think.

Also if you search Mavisky. I gave him "trimmings" from a 10g tank and he stocked a whole 55g with it.

nice. i can't wait for mine to grow
