Hi Friends !

I find that there is very thin "film" like thing formed on the water surface of my tank, which traps tiney bubbles and makes the water surface look dirty and also reduces the light reaching the bottom.

Actually a few days back, an AC technician was working on a AC thats fixed above the tank and as he pulled the air conditioner out, it dragged some of the cement and brick powder straight in to the tank and I guess its that stuff causing this film.

Just wanted some advice and guidance on how to remove this film. The filters are not able to remove this as its on the surface only. Kindly guide me and help me friends...

Thanks !
Kush

Hi Friends !

Yes, I've learnt a lesson and I will surely be careful next time...

Any ideas on how to clear this up ? Will disturbing the surface continously help ? Kindly give me a few ideas friends....

Thanks again for the replies and for caring...

Can you scoop the debris off the surface? I'd also do daily water changes for the next few days as granny suggested.

What kind of filter do you have and how big is the tank?

Hi there !

The Tank is about 4 feet x 2 feet x 2 feet. I currently am running an Internal EHEIM 2048 Filter and a Tank Top Filter that came in with the Tank itself.

I'm also getting an EHEIM 2217 tomorrow.

I'm not able to scoop the surface because I guess its very thin... Any ideas ? Kindly advice....

put a paper towel in your fish net and go along the top of the surface

Do u have a spray bar? If u do, just adjust it to point to the top for just a little surface movement.
