Attitude is always problematic on public forums. Many of us are unwilling to offer suggestions when little or no data is provided by the original poster - "My fish died" or "My tank is too warm" both convey little data and do not prompt me to respond, especially when the poster follows up immediately with a disparaging comment about the forum members from whom they are supposedly seeking advice. Too much info is better than too little, and if you are unwilling to respond to inquiries for more data, well, that is the way it goes. Some of us are unwilling to offer suggestions without facts.

Most of your fish can handle water in ranges of 85-90 degrees without a problem. Most grow-out ponds in Florida are in the 90 degree range right now.

Adding ice and cold water causes rapid temperature fluctuations. Fluctuations kill fish.

I'm going to answer your question with a question, what kind of fish do you ahve and how hot does it get? We ask questions because we want to give the correct advice. You are kind of a snippy person. :-P
If you tank gets up to 90 degrees with tropical fish for short periods of time, its ok. What you can do it shut off the lights. chillers are very expensive. You could just put in a cheap Walmart (the evil store) airconditioner in the room with the fish and have it on for a bit and then just shut the door to keep the room cooler and therfore the water.

Does anyone on this site really know anything or do you all just want to feel smart. It seems that whenever I get an answer to a question, it is just more questions. That is, if anyone ever answers questions. I came to this site for help and instead i get to read a lot of egotistical crap. I am so unhappy with people on this site.
Geezuschrist...do people know what the word MANNERS means nowadays???

I'm surprised that anyone is bothering to answer your question at all after those comments. As Slappy*McFish said, this isn't a service site. Those that answer are volunteering the info in an effort to help...and some know more about certain subjects than others. If you don't like the responses, then you could try spending the time reading up on the subject elsewhere (ie do your own homework.) :read:

mwith, I noticed that your 2nd post is only 10 minutes after your 1st. You have to give people time to see the thread first of all. Second, even though I'm a newbie around here, I have found everyone here to be much friendlier and far more helpful than members of other forums. Not a single stupid question of mine has gone unanswered. I may not like all the answers I get but I accept them from people who know better. :)
