Hi My tanks temp. is at ninety degrees. That is without a heater. Is it because of my lighting? I read that plants need plenty of lighting to do good. But my fish probably don't appreciate this. Can somebody tell what I'm doing wrong???

What type of light are you using? Fluorescent or incandesant? Incandescent lights put off heat and will raise the temperature of your water. If you are using an incadescent light, you should get a flourescent light ASAP and leave the light off until you do.

I had the incandesant lighting.thanks for the tip.I also have some cherry barbs. Would they bother angel fish. Somebody told me it would be all right. Just not to put them in with Tiger Barbs?

One more question!!!!!! I was wanting to know if ghost shrimp count toward the number of fish you can have in your tank?

Well, unfortunately a 10 gallon isn't big enough for angel fish to grow properly - they need a minimum 30 gallon tank and even that is the very minimum. The cherry barbs should be alright in the 10 though depending on how many you have - do you have any other fish in there? How many shrimp? The shrimp are a pretty low bio-load.

I have two barbs two cory cats and five shrimp. How many fish can I put in a 10 gallon tank? Are there any other fish that are good with barbs and a 10 gallon tank?
