Even if you cut it perfectly in half, it would still not work. The amount of water needed is also cut in half too. IMO its not a good idea to do. That would be like using less test lquid.

I don't know how well that would work... the main problem would be having a large enough sample to read. On ammonia test strips, the water sample size would have to be reduced by half, but that wouldn't be a problem with other tests that aren't dependent on sample size. I don't think it would hurt to try... if you could read the half-size strips, you'd be OK.

Back in "the day" before everyone had blood glucose monitors to read test strips they told diabetics they could cut them in half, and the method was to read by matching color squares. I think as long as you are doing a visual match it would work, and you would need to time for the same amount of time.

(***any diabetics out there*** don't cut your strips in half now..you machine wont read them right!!!)
