Water testers are unreliable!

If you are looking for accuracy and precision, look into ELOS test kits, IMHO/E. Many Salifert kits are good, but some seem to be off on a regular basis (alkalinity being one).

Hey Amp,

I keep reading that Elos kits are quite good but none of my LFS's carry them. What would be a good site to purchase them?

Well, you could probably get them cheaper through Elos USA themselves, but let me see if I can narrow in on a few sites. I think MarineDepot carries them now...

Has anyone tried the test strips? My father says he just dips a strip of paper in the water and he gets a read out of everything.

Test strips are high innacurate and would never recomend using them.

I use a mixture of API and Salifert test kist...

Thanks everyone...
