Water testing question

Out of date chemicals....
Dr Foster turns their inventory around so much that the freshwater kit would not sit for that long, per the Dr Foster employee.

Difference in performing the tests....
Not sure what this means, as nitrite testing chemicals are the same

Contamination of the test tubes...
The test tubes I received are new and clean. They used a new test tube as well.

I do understand what you are saying, but I had two individuals, one who is a former Dr Foster knowledgeable associate and they both produced the same result, which simply made me think I am not sure what happened. A theory could be that my test is inaccurate, since two LFS did the test, but like I said, it was sealed, perfectly new, normal in all capacity.

I guess I am just confused and will need to start my cycling over....

:mad2:

I think rb means that they might have not followed the directions precisely

Look at the last four numbers on the lot#'s on each bottle .... 0307 would mean March of 2007 is when it was packaged ..... It is my understanding that anythng less than 1 year old should be good... some of the tests are good for more than 1 year but I didnt take the time to find the list on here...might do a search on API test kits and find the exact period each test is good for.
